Shark attack

Not sure I would want to use this for a great cup of tea, but it is a ingenious design and a outstanding visual.  I have seen this before and if you notice the date this is from  a few years ago, but felt it may be nice to blog about it.  A novety item to say the least, yet very cool.  Has anybody seen other great or innovative tea devices?

Caffeine, Caffeine I need to know

Have you ever wondered how much caffeine was in the tea your drinking or your coffee or soda?   What about chocolate?  Also notice that some teas have as much caffeine as some coffees.

Well look no further then this article that will explain it all to you.

Also the article below further explains caffeine in tea.  The myth about white having the lowest amount of caffeine is not true, it can have more caffeine.

Don't want bad breathe, drink tea

I just came upon this article "8 Ways to Beat Bad Breath" and saw that tea makes me kissable.  So I decided I would put on my favorite lipstick and drink a few cups of tea before I go on the hunt for a kissable guy to kiss me back.

Maybe I should advertise my new place by saying it is great for dates because tea prevents bad breathe.  Ok, it would need to sound better then what I just wrote, oh well.

Pucker up all you tea drinkers to your significant others, random person on the street.... because you are kissable. xoxoxoxo

Pictures from Jam for Japan

Here are a couple pictures of me setting up for Jam for Japan.

There was the Palms (the 2 gentlemen in the picture) and an Irish restaurant that was serving food.  The music was great and a nice auction of artwork too.

How Not To Drink English Tea

Are you obsessing about the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton?  Do you know how to drink proper English tea?  Although my place will not focus on English teas, it is nice to see different ways people all over the world drink tea.  Not sure if this video is help or hindrance... but it is funny.

Here is a hilarious Stephen Colbert video with Hugo Vickers from Tea and Symphony from NY.

Tea Plantation and becoming certified tea specialist trip

This will be the first of several posts on my trip to Charleston, SC in 2009 for my last classes taken in order to become a certified tea specialist and touring the Tea Plantation.  One day I would like to go to India, Sri Lanka, Taiwan or China to see tea production there, but for now I am sated with my trip to the Tea Garden in South Carolina.  Here are some pictures of my trip.

2011 Chef’s Survey Tea is in

QSR asks the industry’s leaders to share insights on the segment’s hottest menu trends.  “We see big potential in tea. From a culinary perspective, tea is a great vessel to transport different flavor profiles.”
Chef Chris Kline, Sara Lee Foodservice http://www.qsrmagazine.com/reports/2011-chef-s-survey?page=12.
This is exciting news for someone that will be opening a teahouse shortly.  Reading predictions for the year is interesting to me because some come true though it may take a few years and some seem to flop and fade away.  Here's hoping that tea becomes more then a trend and that it lasts awhile.  I also noticed other areas I may focus on that are becoming fashionable, which excites me too.
remember before the recession tea was hot and on many lists, then the recession happened and it fell out of favor.  I was hoping it would resurge when the economy got better.  So far it is looking good and that it might.
Do you remember any trends that were up in coming but never lived up to the hype?  Any trends you believed that would not happen and went well or had lasting power (became more then just a trend)?
